“In the garden everyone can be an artist, without apology or explanation,” quoted Brian Minter on Sat. Oct 14. at a highly successful high profile guest speaker event organised by the Vanderhoof Community Foundation which has just been established in the last year.

An audience of approximately 150 took the opportunity to see and hear Brian Minter in person at the Integris Community Theatre at NVSS. The event drew people from as far as Quesnel and surrounding communities; Prince George, Fraser Lake and Fort St. James.

The Board of Directors of the Vanderhoof Community Foundation was very pleased with the turnout. “It gave us a chance to raise the profile of the Foundation in the community and to recognize the “tribe” of avid gardeners in the Nechako Valley,” said VCF Board Chair Kathie LaForge, “We wish to thank Brian for his insightful and entertaining presentation on new trends in gardening.”

The seed was planted for not only next season’s gardening ideas but also the tremendous growth and giving potential of the community endowment fund as well.
