It was election time again for Nak’azdli Whut’en in Fort St. James on August 11.
A new Chief and four councillors were elected.
The new Chief is Alexander McKinnon. He will begin his term on Sept. 1 until Sept., 2020.
McKinnon is thrilled with the results.
“It’s all still so very new, but yes, I’m so excited,” McKinnon said.
The four new councillors elected are: Ramona Ann Joseph, Fred Sam, Wayne Sam and Howard Sam.
A by election for a councillor position will take place in October.
