Darryl Shuttleworth has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Shuttleworth was caught after tips from the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit indicated to the local RCMP detachment a suspect could be coming into Fort St. James with some drugs.

On Friday, August 19 at about 1 p.m. in the afternoon, surveillance spotted the vehicle they were looking for on Highway 27 heading into town and pulled it over, with Shuttleworth the lone male driver.

A search of the vehicle then found two pounds of marijuana and a half an ounce of crack cocaine on board.

Shuttleworth appeared in Fort St. James Provincial court last week, and has been released on his own recognizance until his trial.
