Applications are now open for the Fort St. James Community Foundation's (FSJCF) annual grants. This year, recipients can apply for up to $5,000 in funding for projects and initiatives that benefit the local community.
Applicants must be a member of a registered non-profit society or charity in or around Fort St. James and meet one of the designated granting priority areas, such as education, health, social wellness, sports and recreation, arts and environment.
Last year, the Fort St. James Curling Club, Fort St. James Minor Hockey Association and Stuart Lake Golf Club were among those awarded grants.
FSJCF also awards numerous student and school grants throughout each year.
Peter Valk, a long-standing member of the FSJCF board of directors, said the grants help the organization work towards its goal of supporting the economy, society, culture and families of Fort St. James and surrounding areas.
As part of fundraising efforts to make the grants possible, the organization hosts multiple events, including a Corks & Kegs event in the summer.
Applications can be submitted through a digital form on the FSJCF website until March 15, and all applicants will be notified of their application status by early April.
