The Fort St. James Snowmobile Club held their annual Poker Ride at their clubhouse in Fort St. James, B.C. on March 1.

Despite the rainy weather and warmer temperatures expected for the day, the event turned out to be a fundraising success.

The local non-profit organization, which also operates as a 4x4 club during the summer, depends on volunteers and fundraising efforts to sustain its activities.

“Since I moved here, we've lost the graveyard trails and quick access to the trails from Sowchea Bay Provincial Park. Losing trails is frustrating, especially in a small town with limited activities. It’s reassuring to know that the sled trails should remain safe, thanks to the club,” said local resident and enthusiastic trail user Erika Lakes.

The club boasts hundreds of kilometres of marked trails, located on Dickenson’s Loop.
