Home Routes tour season concludes in Fort St. James with memorable performances

The finale on April 4 was met with sold-out tickets and a full house

The Home Routes/Chemin Chez Nous tour season concluded on Friday, April 4, as an intimate crowd enjoyed performances by Dustin Dale Gaspard and Tanner Bingaman at Pope Mountain Arts, in Fort St. James, B.C.

The concert series, which started in October, ended with an evening that left the audience in high spirits.

The series began with Flora Luna and Joel Lavoie captivating audiences at the local community arts centre, followed by a standout performance from James Gordon in November. After a brief holiday break, the music scene reignited with Firebird in February and Christina Martin in March, keeping up a steady rhythm of artistic excellence.

The finale on April 4 was met with sold-out tickets and a full house, highlighting the community's excitement for live music.

Local music enthusiast Anita Willick expressed her appreciation, stating, "I have a love of the genre of music that Dustin Dale Gaspard plays: Americana, blues, Cajun, folk and a surprising new genre he shared, swamp pop. I also love a small and more intimate setting for live music than the large concerts."

"His vocal range was wide, powerful; from deep battle cries, to soft, thoughtful and heartfelt," she added.

Spanning six months, the concert series proved to be a resounding success, highlighting the strong community support for music and the arts.

The local venue, Pope Mountain Arts, once again demonstrated its pivotal role in fostering cultural enrichment in the area, stating what a treat it was to have such successful artists within our area.
