Break, enter and theft

On Thursday September 14, at 9:00 p.m. Fort St. James RCMP responded to a 911 call from a residence in Tlazt’en Nation reporting someone had just broken into their residence. The caller reported a male smashed their patio door and entered their residence while they slept. The homeowner got up to find a male walking around inside his house. He confronted the suspect, however the male grabbed the homeowner’s vehicle keys and fled in their vehicle.

Thankfully the homeowner was not injured during the incident but obviously shaken.

The vehicle, a red 2008 Nissan was recovered after crashing into a ditch near Binche Keyoh. The vehicle is badly damaged and has been seized for forensic examination.

The Police Service Dog from Prince George attended the scene to assist in tracking the suspect, however no track was established.

New leads are surfacing as well as forensic evidence left at the scene which police anticipate will lead them to the suspect(s) involved.

At least one suspect is described as First Nations, early 20’s 5’10, stocky build, black hair, clean shaven and wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.
