Hundreds of residents took to the streets on Nov. 24 to witness the annual Santa Parade and Moonlight Madness organized by the Fort St. James Chamber of Commerce.
Spirit Square was packed Friday evening in anticipation for the parade. Both sides of the street had community members lined down as far as you could see and businesses such as FSJ Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Murray Ridge Ski Hill, and So Divine Artisan Boutique were handing out hot cocoa.
All of the surrounded businesses were open, and busy for the Chamber’s Moonlight Madness Event.
The turn out for floats for the parade was one of the largest in the past few years. Float after float, local businesses arrived in full force, candy was being handed out to parade goers, and the event was an all around huge success.
First place float was Newlands for their fun and bright Tiki Beach Santa Theme. Second place was awarded to Ubleis logging for their beautiful lights, and third place went to K&D for their reindeer display. People’s choice award was given to J-Mann Electric/Dado Construction.
