Fundraiser held to support local animal welfare

'Art for Animals' exhibition will be open throughout November

On Friday, November 1st, the Fort St. James Animal Care Team Society celebrated the opening of their "Art for Animals" fundraising exhibit at Pope Mountain Arts. The event was a success, attracting a full house and featuring performances by local artists Kyla Strange and Katrina Holden, along with a delightful spread of food.

Since its inception in early 2024, the Animal Care Team has been dedicated to enhancing animal welfare in Fort St. James and surrounding areas through initiatives such as spay and neuter trips, vaccine clinics, educational programs, and rescue efforts. The Art for Animals exhibit is a vital part of their ongoing fundraising efforts to support these essential services.

Visitors are invited to explore the diverse collection, which includes pieces from local artists and creators from across British Columbia. Artwork is available for purchase during the exhibit, which will be open throughout November, with regular hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays.
