Musician Michael Peters to perform at Pope Mountain Arts on April 19

Valemount-based singer-songwriter G. Michael Peters is coming to Fort St. James for an evening of soulful melodies at Pope Mountain Arts Centre.

Peters, renowned for his distinctive blend of country rock and folk, will play at the Coffee House concert on April 19, promising an intimate performance that resonates deeply with his audience.

Ahead of his Pope Mountain Arts appearance, Peters will also host a special hour-long performance for seniors at the Stuart Nechako Manor, embodying his commitment to sharing his music with diverse communities.Peters will also perform in Vanderhoof on April 20, at Cozy Corner Pizza.

Reflecting on his anticipation for the Fort St. James debut, Peters expressed excitement about immersing himself in the area’s natural beauty.

“So I really am looking forward to coming up and and seeing the area and meeting the people.”

A MorningStar Records recording artist, Peters is celebrated for his ability to weave personal narratives into his music, crafting a heartfelt repertoire that touches on themes of love, loss, and the human condition.

The singer-songwriter said he draws inspiration from his own life experiences and observations of the world around him.

“I’m not a young guy anymore so I don’t write songs about cars and girls too much anymore,” he jests.

Majority of his songs are now inspired by life experiences, including navigating various relationships and the surreal beauty of residing amidst three mountain ranges in Valemount, he said.

“I hope that people can get universal emotions and values from my songs,” Peters said, highlighting his desire to create music that transcends individual experiences and resonates on a broader level.

With his upcoming performance at Pope Mountain Arts, Peters invites music enthusiasts to join him on a journey through his catalogue of original compositions, including selections from his album ‘Have I Lived A Good Life.’

Michael Peters’ Coffee House concert is scheduled for April 19, from 7-9 p.m. at Pope Mountain Arts. Tickets are priced at $10 and can be purchased through the Pope Mountain Arts website.
