Last year, 122 B.C. workers died in workplace accidents.

And on April 28, at 11 a.m., a memorial service will be held at the Worker’s Memorial in front of the Municipal Office in Fort St. James to remember those lives lost.

The annual event is set to bring out a number of speakers from local industry leaders, members from the Workers’ Compensation Board and from Fort St. James Council.

According to Kevin Crook, chief administrative officer Of Fort St. James, this is an event that invites the whole community.

“Most people come wearing hard hats in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in workplace accidents. There is a moment of silence, a great number of speeches and guest speakers. All are welcome.”
