There have been numerous 9-1-1 hang-ups since the new service came into effect in the local area.

The RCMP would like to ask people to not allow children to play with phones, and take the battery out if letting children play with cellular phones. People should avoid having 911 on speed dial, and if a person does realize they have accidentally phoned 911, they should remain on the line so the operator can confirm it is not an emergency and crews will not be dispatched.
