Found body at a Prince George house fire prompts investigation

The body of a 28-year-old woman was found inside the scene of a house fire in the Prince George area and has been deemed suspicious.

On Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11:11 a.m. the Prince George RCMP were requested to attend the scene of a structure fire at a residence on Dave Road in the Blackwater Subdivision.

The Beaverley Fire Department and B.C. Ambulance Services had attended as well and had located a 28 year-old female deceased in a bedroom inside the residence.

The RCMP North District Major Crimes is investigating the incident along with the B.C. Coroners Service and the Office of the Fire Commissioner.

The investigation is continuing into determining whether the woman’s death is criminal in nature, including a post mortem medical examination which has been scheduled for Thursday, July 25, at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Investigators are not releasing the victim's name at this time.
