Are you part of a community group that focuses on healthy living? Are you all about making a difference that impacts Fort St. James in a positive way?

If so, the District of Fort St. James is calling on you to submit your application.

The District in partnership with Northern Health is offering one time seed grants up to $1,500 for eligible community groups.

Funding can be used for improving health, building relationships, reducing health inequities, building capacity and must have lasting impact in the community.

Lina Gasser, Deputy Corporate Officer for the District of Fort St. James says that the opportunity is open to any community group that promotes healthy living.

“It’s all about staying active with a focus on healthy living and that can be reused and is long-term,” Gasser said.

All applicants must submit a letter of intent and include a project budget.

The grant will not go towards funding wages, salaries, purchases of food for food bank, short-term projects, for groups outside of the north, prize money or individual grants.

The deadline for the grant application is June 1, 2016.
