Teachers from all three public schools in Fort St. James gathered at Spirit Square to call attention to the breakdown of contract talks with the BC government.

Around thirty teachers gathered to add their voices to the demand that the provincial government keep up talks with teachers, instead of legislating a continuation of the terms of the last contract, as the BC Liberals are planning to do with Bill 22.

The teachers voted to strike for three days last week, the maximum length that is allowable according to a Labour Relations board ruling.

Classes should resume this Thursday.
