On April 19 and 20, the students at David Hoy Elementary School visited space.
A portable planetarium hosted by the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre gave students the opportunity to explore science further.
As students entered the planetarium in awe, they heard a presentation by Jaimie Pouris from the Space Centre.
Students had a view of the night sky, stars and constellations and visited planets such as Mars and Jupiter and even a black hole.
“It would be your worst day ever if you fell into a black hole,” Pouris said.
“You would be spaggetified.”
Students travelled through space and ended up back on earth where they caught a glimpse of what Fort St. James looks like from Space.
“Thank you for travelling to space with me,” Pouris said. “I hope you enjoyed learning more about our night skies.”
