The fourth annual “Think Big” Career Fair will be taking place on May 6 -7.

Career Counselor for Nak’azdli Whut’en, Desiree Whitely says that the event continues to grow bigger each year.

“I feel that this event is important for our community because it provides all of our students with more information about all of the careers that are actually out there. To have someone explain everything to you face to face and answer any questions is a lot more encouraging and easier than searching for answers on-line,” Whitely said.

“Seeing all of the possible careers out there gets students thinking more and more and gets them motivated to go for their goals or maybe create new ones. This also goes for individuals who attend in hopes of possibly changing their career path or just to see what else is out there.”

The event will take place at Fort St. James Secondary School. On May 6, doors will open from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and on May 7 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Admission is free and all are invited.

Whitley hopes that all who attend will leave with more information than what they came in with.

“My hope is that everyone who attends will find out the next steps that they need to get to their career/educational goals and to get them more motivated and excited to works towards them,” Whitely said.

“Or for some, maybe it’s about finding a new calling as they discover the many possibilities that are actually out there.”

Live entertainments, door prizes and snacks will be provided.
