In Loving Memory ~
Denny's love, laughter, and generosity will be dearly missed.
Dennis Walter Ransom of Fort St. James, BC, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of May 29, 2024, at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, BC, after a brave battle with a terminal lung disease.
Dennis Sr. was born in Markdale, Ontario, to the late Elmer and Anne Ransom. He grew up in Berkeley, Ontario, and first moved to British Columbia in 1969, where he started a family and worked as a signal operator on the railway. After a brief return to Ontario, he moved back to BC in the 1980s, deciding to plant roots and call it home.
Throughout his life, Denny embraced various careers, from driving trucks to working in a sawmill, eventually retiring as a grader man in road maintenance. He had a deep love for rock and roll music, enjoyed adventures all over Canada in the wilderness, on mountains, and by lakes, and cherished his family and friends who became family.
Dennis is survived by his spouse, Janet Young, and their beloved pets, Mister the cat and Chloe the dog. He also leaves behind his children, Dennis Ransom Jr., Kevin Ransom, and Angel Ransom; his stepchildren, Toby Young and Janele Young; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dennis was a humble man who did not wish for a funeral. Instead, he wanted those who knew him to celebrate his life in their own way, cherishing the good times they shared.
