October 26, 1935 - October 11, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ivor Lund on Sunday October 11, 2020 at age 84. He will be deeply missed by his wife Sharon, daughters Kelly and Brenda (Don), and son Craig (Nina) 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Ivor was born October 26, 1935 in Rabbit Lake Saskatchewan and moved to B.C.'s Cariboo region as a child.
During his high school years in the Wells and Quesnel area Ivor was remembered as an accomplished baseball player and golden gloves boxer.
After graduating high school he went to work at Western Plywood where he quickly became a supervisor. It was while he was working there that he met his future wife Sharon.
Ivor and Sharon married in 1959.
In 1965 the family moved to Williams Lake where Ivor was a superintendent at the plywood plant. In 1970 they moved again to Fort St James where he brought his expertise to the new Canfor veneer plant where he worked until retirement.
After retirement he worked as a handyman at Nak'albun Elementary and plowed snow at Apollo Forest Products and Kemikel Contracting.
Ivor had a passion for boats and loved being on the water whether it was the lake, ocean, or going up the Tachie River. He also spent countless hours volunteering with maintenance at the golf course and curling rink being a big supporter of both.
There isn't anyone who has walked away from a conversation with Ivor without a smile on their face. He made friends easily and had more than you could count and they all have a funny story to tell about him.
He will be missed more than possible by his family, friends and community.
We love you Ivor, and
May the good lord take a liking to you!
