Virginia Eleanor Rix (Lambert)
April 16, 1930 – June 3, 2011
Virginia passed away peacefully on June 3, 2011.
She is survived by her three children, Janet, Lori and
Julie, eight grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren,
sister (Pat) brother (Jimmy) She was pre-deceased by
son, Chris (1988) and her husband, Daniel. (2009)
Virginia met her husband while attending high school
in Hayward, California. In 1969 Virginia, with her husband
and children, relocated to Fort St. James, British
Columbia. Virginia and Daniel spent seven years
enjoying the outdoors and various challenges of B.C.
and then moved to Sandpoint, Idaho.
Virginia has resided in Dalton Gardens for the past 18 years. In earlier years, Virginia
was a member of the Eastern Star Organization, Daughters of the Nile and Ladies of
the Oriental Shrine. She was an active member of the ‘Red Hot Mamas’ dance group
for several years. She also became an avid golfer and worked hard to improve her
game. While living in Sandpoint, Virginia attended school to become a hairdresser.
She went on to work in a local salon in addition to cutting hair for many friends and
family members.
Over the years, Virginia enjoyed her many trips to Canada to visit her children and
grandchildren. Virginia loved spending time quilting and sewing projects for her family.
She also loved to spend time in her garden and in earlier years enjoyed canning
vegetables and making home-made wine. Mom loved to walk and was often seen
walking in and around her neighbourhood. In later years, Virginia and Daniel enjoyed
traveling together overseas as well as taking many weekend excursions in their motor
home. Virginia will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit.
