The Fort St. James women’s hockey team came out on top in their tournament in Burns Lake on the Dec. 10-11 weekend.
The team was tied for last place after Saturday, but ended Sunday with enough wins to take the trophy.
It was the David McEntire Memorial Tournament, held in memory of a Burns Lake man who passed away following a vehicle accident on the way home from a Prince George hockey tournament two years ago.
His wife and son were also in the vehicle and were injured too, but have recovered. Cherie McEntire is a member of the Burns Lake women’s Vortex hockey team and played her first game during the tourney, since the accident.
